Vocational Discernment

WHY DISCERN WITH THE REFORMED CATHOLIC CHURCH?

The Reformed Catholic Church is a growing community within the Independent Sacramental Movement. There are different reasons Independent Sacramental Churches are formed. Our jurisdiction was established on the strength that all people are welcome to worship and serve God, regardless of sexual or gender identity, marital status or other reasons Churches give to exclude people.

We maintain valid apostolic succession, the same sacraments, and a mass that Catholics are used to, and we do so without the strict dogmas that turn people away. In addition, we ordain both men and women, married or single, gay, straight or otherwise, to the diaconate and presbyterate.

WHAT MAKES THE REFORMED CATHOLIC CHURCH DISTINCT?

Due to the unique nature of ministry outside of the mainstream Churches - those with established parishes and church buildings - being called to ministry in the Independent Sacramental Movement requires one to be creative and flexible.

If you feel called to ministry and are considering the Reformed Catholic Church, we are excited to journey with you as you begin to understand what the Spirit is doing in your life. The first question we ask is what is your ministry? We realize that this question might sound premature, as you are still discerning, but any call from God contains a spark of a ministry. Who do you want to serve? What injustice calls you to action? What about parish leadership is calling to you? Do you see yourself being called to a ministry of service of the less fortunate, or a ministry in the church? We recommend taking some time to pray about these questions, so we can begin answering them together.
